Absolut Vodka Ad Pulled in Mexico

I think many people have forgotten that nearly half of the United States used to be Mexico. That’s why I have no problem with illegal immigration. It’s only “illegal” because we say so. America was founded by illegal immigrants. It’s not like they come over here and get some kind of get-out-of-jail-free card. If they f*ck up, then they get deported…just like every other immigrant. Stop hating on the Mexicans and worry about something more important. A 1000 mile long fence? Lol. Berlin Wall circa 2008?

Anyway…this Absolut Vodka ad, that only ran in Mexico, was pulled due to protests from angry Americans. The campaign, which promotes ideal scenarios under the slogan “In an Absolut World,” showed a 1830s-era map when Mexico included California, Texas and other southwestern states.

In this image released by the Mexican advertising firm of Teran/TBWA on Monday April 7, 2008, an advertisement created for Swedish Absolut Vodka which ran in Mexico, shows a map of the border of Mexico and the United States where it stood before the Mexican-American War of 1848. The Absolut vodka company apologized for the ad campaign amid angry calls for a boycott by U.S. consumers. (AP Photo/Teran/TBWA)

Were there not any Native American Indians in the southwest and west coast? Weren’t there already indigenous people there before anybody started claiming and conquering and anything?

You make a very good point. The indigenous tribes of the land are the only non-immigrants. Everyone else should relax.
